News24 – Man Utd news: Paul Pogba REJECTED contract talks – Real Madrid eye midfielder
======================================
 Pogba’s future at United has come under the spotlight once again after he revealed it was his dream to play for Real Madrid and manager Zinedine Zidane while on international duty with France. Spanish publication Marca claim the club were keen to extend his deal which expires in June 2021 but that he and his camp were not open to negotiations. They also say Real were interested in him in 2016 and that the La Liga giants are still keen to take him to the Bernabeu in the summer. Pogba was previously unsettled at Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho was manager but has enjoyed a dramatic upturn in form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over last December. However, he admitted he could still move earlier this month when quizzed by reporters ahead of France’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Moldova. “Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone,” he said. “It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. “There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. “For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.” Zidane did little to distance himself from the rumours when he was asked about a potential move for his fellow countryman. “I like Pogba a lot, it’s nothing new,” he said earlier this weekend. “I know him personally. He’s a different kind of player, he brings so much and there are few players who bring as much as he does. “He’s a midfielder who knows how to defend and how to attack. He knows how to do everything on the pitch.” World Cup winner Pogba was unusually quiet in United’s 2-1 win over Watford immediately after the international break in which his future was thrown into doubt. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial scored the goals that sealed all three points but they were hanging on after Abdoulaye Doucoure late effort and Solskjaer admitted he might consider moving Pogba into a different position when they face Wolves on Wednesday. “Paul is important for us and we couldn’t keep the ball today,” the Norwegian said. “We had 50-50 possession at home, you are a bit disappointed with that. “Paul has been away, played two games with France. [He plays] a bit deeper [role] for them so that is something we may have to think about to get him more involved. Paul can do both, he can attack and defend.”
