That’s the verdict of 1982 World Cup winner Giovanni Galli, who says the Portuguese forward can “afford” to leave the La Liga giants. Cristiano Ronaldo helped Real win their third Champions League title on the spin on Saturday as they beat Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev. That trophy was the 15th piece of silverware Real have picked up since signing the 33-year-old from Manchester United back in 2009. Ronaldo hinted after the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium showdown that his Real career could come to an end this summer though. “It was very nice to be at Real Madrid,” said Ronaldo. “In the coming days I will give a response to the fans, who have always been at my side. “Former Italy international Galli has now offered his take on the two reasons why Ronaldo sounds eager to call it a day at Real. “Ronaldo? He probably thinks that this Real can not go any further,” said Galli, at a memorial event for his late son Niccolo. “Leaving such a prestigious club with such an important prize list belongs to the big ones and Ronaldo can afford it. “Maybe he needs to lift his foot off the accelerator and go play in a lighter [less demanding] championship. “Manchester United has been touted as a potential destination if Ronaldo does bring the curtain down on his Bernabeu career. And former Premier League star Clinton Morrison reckons there’s a good chance of an Old Trafford return happening. “I think Man United fans would be going doolally,” Morrison told Express Sport, when asked if Ronaldo could head back to Manchester this summer. “If that happens my kids would be happy because they love Man United. They’ll be over the moon and if Ronaldo goes I’ll probably have to start going getting them a season ticket. “But it would be what every Man United fans’ dream for him to go there. And I think Cristiano has got a lot of love for Man United. “They were the club that made him what he was and Sir Alex Ferguson. So it could happen. There’s a big possibility it could happen.”If he wants to move, I think the one team he will go back to is Man United. And with him in the team, that’s how they do become a different animal and a different team because he’s one hell of a talent. “People might say: ‘Ah, he’s over 30’ but he still produces. When the big games come, he produces week after week after week. That’s why he’s one of the best in the world.”.
